Wakefield Man Arrested for Armed Robbery

Sharp observation skills by Officer John Whaley led to the arrest of Daniel Emero (32 years old) of 56 Cordis Street in Wakefield for Armed Robbery. On Wednesday May 31st at approximatley 11pm, Officer Whaley saw Emero lingering around the Irving Gas Station on Salem Street. Emero left the area but returned a short time later and entered the gas station store when there were no customers inside. Emero was inside for less than a minute and then came running out of the store and towards his vehicle, which he had parked at the Dunkin Donuts. Emero was stopped as Wakefield Police dispatch received a 911 call from the Irving reporting that they had just been robbed. An investigation found that Emero told the store clerk he had a gun, but was found to be in possession of a knife. Emero had received $420 cash from the store clerk.
