IRS Scam

Residents of Wakefield started receiving fraudulent phone calls around noon on Saturday July 29th from people posing as IRS agents. These fraudsters are telling people that they owe money to the IRS and that if they do not pay, the local police will show up at their house to arrest them. THIS IS A SCAM! Do NOT give out any personal or banking information to anyone over the phone. Please check on your elderly relatives or neighbors to make sure they do not fall prey to this scam.
