***PRESS RELEASE***

On March 10, 2020, at 8:25 AM, the Wakefield Police received a 911 call from Produce Connections at 96 Audubon Road reporting that an employee had been cut with a knife by another employee.
The injuries were reported to be non-life threatening.

The caller reported that the suspect still had the knife and had fled the building towards the dead-end side of Audubon Road.

Wakefield Police units responded and received assistance from the Massachusetts State Police, who sent additional troopers, K9s and their helicopter. The two schools in the area were notified and went into their lockdown procedures.

After a search of the swampy area off Audubon Road, the suspect was located and taken into custody without incident. He was identified as 34 year-old Elvin Guiterrez, of 47 William Street Apartment #1, Chelsea, MA.

Guitterez will be arraigned Tuesday afternoon at Malden District Court for:
