National Medication Take-Back Day April 30

The Wakefield Police Department and Wake-Up Coalition, in partnership with Walgreens, invites the community to participate in National Medication Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 30, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event provides a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications. The event will take place at Walgreens in Wakefield, located at 572 Main Street.

Pet medications will also be accepted, though thermometers, ointments, liquids, aerosol cans, and inhalers cannot be collected at this event.

At the National Take-Back event in October 2021, 4,982 sites across the country collected 372 tons of medication for safe and proper disposal. For more information about this national initiative or to locate other locations for medication collection, visit https://www.dea.gov/takebackday.
