Itunes Scam

Unfortunately there are many scams out there, and we urge our residents and businesses to use caution anytime a request comes in to send money that is out of the ordinary. Often times these involve gift cards or wiring money.

Recently we had an employee of a business receive an email from what she believed to be her boss, who was away on business at the time. The email was not from the business address, but a personal email that appeared legitimate. The "boss" requests the manager to purchase itunes gift cards, scratch off the security code, and email a photo back. The "boss" advises that these will be gifts for clients, and the manager will be reimbursed for the charges
