Greenwood Pay Parking System
Effective Monday, December 3rd, 2007, the pay parking system on Main Street in Greenwood will be activated.
The system requires that anyone parking in one of the numbered spaces pay a $3.00 fee. Payment is required each day Monday through Friday between the hours of 5:00 am and 6:00 pm. State Holidays are excluded, which include New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Patriots Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The procedures for the operation and use of the system are as follows:
1) Park in a numbered space.
2) Remember your space number. Space numbers are located on the fence and on the Roadway. Please note, you do not have to put a slip or receipt on your windshield. The machine will notify the Police Department of any vehicle that has not paid.
3) Pay the $3.00 fee at the pay stations located at Forest Street and Main Street.
4) You can pay using coins or credit cards. No paper currency or foreign coins accepted.
Please note:
(A) Anyone not paying for their space will receive a $25.00 parking fine from the Wakefield Police Department
(B) Snow and Ice Season – Winter parking regulations apply between December 1st and April 1st. The regulations can be obtained by contacting the DPW.
