Have You Received A Bad Check?
If you have received a check that you cannot cash due to insufficient funds, stopped payment by the issuer or a check drawn on a non-existent account, you may have recourse in a criminal action against the person who wrote the check.
If you are requesting that a criminal complaint be taken out against the issuer of a returned check, please follow the instructions listed below:
1. Write out a complete statement as to the facts in your particular case.
2. Include copies of the returned check and any other relevant paperwork you may have.
3. Please include you own name, address and telephone number on your statement.
4. Drop off or mail your documents to the Wakefield Police Station
