WINTER OVERNIGHT PARKING BAN BEGINS DECEMBER 1, 2007
Effective December 1, 2007 the Wakefield Police will began to enforce Wakefield's overnight night winter parking ban. This by-law is only enforced during the winter months to keep the streets clear for snow removal.
Any vehicle parking on the streets between 1am and 7am for over one hour will be in violation and is subject to ticketing.
The parking ban is in effect during any snow emergency, regardless of the time of day. During snowstorms, no vehicles may remain on the street due to snow removal and traffic concerns. Vehicles impeding the treatment of the roads or snow removal are subject to being ticketed and towed at the order of the Department of Public Works.
Parking Violations Summary
Overnight Parking Violations will be fined 25 dollars.
Parking within 10 feet of a fire hydrant and interfering with snow removal or plowing which will be 50 dollars.
Handicap violations will be 125 dollars.
